3rd Grade Music

Third Grade General Music builds upon the work done in the primary grades, exploring elements of rhythm and melody with increasing sophistication. Specific goals include:
  • Consistent use of the singing voice in the head voice register
  • Review of known rhythmic elements: ta, ti ti, tibi tibi, rest
  • Work with new rhythmic elements: half note, syncopa
  • Work with solfa syllables in the do pentatone: do, re, mi, so, la
  • Dictation and recording musical ideas in stick and standard musical notation
