Kindergarten Music

Kindergarten General Music focuses on the development of key readiness skills for music literacy study in Grades 1-5. We also develop a working repertoire for musical study in the later grades. Areas of study in Kindergarten music include:

• Awareness of the steady beat

• beat vs. rhythm

• loud vs. soft

• high vs. low

• fast vs. slow

• singing voice, speaking voice, shouting voice, whisper voice

• listening/performance behavior

• moving purposefully and safely to music

Kindergarten classes at Warren Elementary have music with me once per week this year.
